The Data Product Canvas is a framework for collaborative workshops to design data products for data mesh architecture and to achieve a shared understanding of data product quality requirements, metadata, and SLOs. In total, the Data Product Canvas consists of ten building blocks.
Given that the data product within the data mesh philosophy is more than just a dataset, I always wanted a visual framework to guide me and my team in designing and thinking about all aspects of the data product collaboratively and precisely. A tool for establishing a shared understanding of data products we are designing and developing within the data mesh was a key motivation for coming up with the Data Product Canvas.
