Sean McGrath points to an older article of his about PYX -- I had never heard about this notation before, but the examples in his article like this one: xmln fig1.xml | grep "^-" | awk "{print substr($0,2)}" | wc -w are much to my liking. awk for processing XML, how cool is that?
