Making this connection by moving from floor to floor won’t work. Architects need to bypass existing structures and take the elevator up to the penthouse—that’s the architect elevator. However, how do architects know what is expected from them up in the penthouse? How to get there in the first place? What has to be done at the different floors? How to tackle all this complexity? And how does one get back down?
This workshop will give IT architects, technical managers, and senior developers a new perspective on architecture and architects in the context of organizational change. A combination of lecture, discussion, and exercises will teach participants how to interact with, and influence, parts of the organization ranging from corporate strategy to IT operations. It will also prepare them for an environment of constant change that requires everyone to unlearn old habits. Participants will combine organizational knowledge with decision models and communication techniques to devise and pitch a convincing strategy that will connect all floors of the organization.
