Was The Windows Registry a Good Idea?

After living with the Windows Registry for more than a decade, I’m starting to wonder if we were better off with those .INI files.
Only one question comes to mind — it took you a decade to find out?

Jeff’s stuff is entertaining, accessible and, most of the time, obvious. Only occasionally does this formula backfire on him (FizzBuzz comes to mind).
